Oneida Aceves Treviño

I'm Oneida Aceves Treviño, an award-winning muralist, artist, educator, and owner of Creative Explorations RGV, proudly based in the Rio Grande Valley. With a bachelor's degree in art and over 20 years of experience in Arts Education and several years in Public Art, I believe creativity has the power to inspire confidence, build community, and tell meaningful stories.

Teaching has shaped the way I approach every mural I create—designing artwork that invites connection, sparks conversation, and creates lasting connections between people and the places they share.

My murals can be found throughout South Texas, from schools and municipalities to large-scale community landmarks, including the 409-foot Don't Mess with Texas mural.  I am currently leading the creation of a major Public Art Project by painting approximately 13,000 square feet on a large parking garage structure, continuing my passion for transforming public spaces through vibrant, meaningful art.

My work has received numerous awards and has been featured by regional and national media, reflecting my commitment to excellence, creativity, and the communities I serve.

Whether I'm creating a landmark mural, collaborating with community partners, or mentoring the next generation of artists, my goal is the same: to create artwork that inspires pride, tells authentic stories, and leaves a lasting impact.
